What are the Terms of Sale and Conditions of Entry?

Moonlight Cinema is operated by The Greater Union Organisation Pty Ltd.    

1.0 Terms of Sale 

1.1 Tickets sold by Moonlight Cinema are subject to the following terms and conditions:  

1.2 Ticket Swaps: customers may request to change their booking to a different Moonlight session (in the same city), provided the request is submitted at least 24 hours before the original booked session start time. Each booking is eligible for one swap only, and all swaps are subject to availability. Customers who have purchased tickets directly may complete the swap via the self-service tool linked on your booking confirmation page or email. For bookings made using gift vouchers, complimentary tickets, or rain-out credits, swap requests must be submitted via Customer Service

1.3 If a Customer does not change their booking using the Ticket Swap option set out in clause 1.2, then Customers will not be able to obtain a refund or exchange if they  inadvertently book the wrong session, if they are unable to attend their booked session or if customers choose to leave the Moonlight venue prior to the end of the screening.  

1.4 Cancellations Due To Adverse Weather: Moonlight Cinema is an outdoor event and is occasionally subject to adverse weather. We try to go ahead with screenings wherever possible, and do not cancel for light/intermittent/potential rain. We strongly recommend customers bring wet weather gear to screenings in case of rain (note the use of umbrellas during screenings is not permitted as it obstructs the view of other audience members). Screenings will be cancelled only if the weather poses a safety threat to patrons and staff. The decision to cancel a screening is made by the Venue Manager on site, and can be made at any time up to or during the screening, as weather conditions are notoriously unpredictable. Patrons accept the risk that weather they consider unsatisfactory may occur on a screening night and acknowledge that tickets will not be re-validated unless a screening is officially cancelled by Moonlight Cinema.  

Moonlight Cinema does not provide refunds on tickets in the event of a Cancellation due to Adverse Weather, except in the final month of the season. If a session is cancelled due to adverse weather before the final month of the season, tickets are automatically converted to a voucher redeemable for the same ticket type for a future session during that Moonlight Cinema season. You must retain your original tickets (vouchers)in order to re-use them on another night.  

When a session is cancelled, customers will receive an SMS and an email to the mobile number and email address entered when purchasing tickets online. The email will contain instructions on how to rebook for another session. Moonlight Cinema may also send a follow up reminder email to customers.  Instructions on how to re-book your session are also available on the FAQ under the heading My session was cancelled, what happens to my tickets? Additionally, signage will be erected at the venue notifying customers of the cancellation. Please note that Moonlight Cinema Head Office does not receive advance notification of a cancellation due to adverse weather, and so are unable to advise customers of a cancellation.  

In the event that a cancellation due to adverse weather occurs in the final month of the season for a Moonlight Cinema venue, then bookings will automatically be refunded within 48 hours to the value of the original booking. Bookings from cancelled sessions in the last month of the season will not be valid for rebooking. If customers would like to attend another session, they will need to purchase new tickets to their desired session.  

1.5 If a movie session is cancelled or terminated due to mechanical breakdown, technical issues or reasons other than adverse weather conditions, then Moonlight Cinema will refund the face value of each ticket upon return to Moonlight Cinema of intact tickets to that session or will provide vouchers redeemable for the same ticket type for a future session during that Moonlight Cinema season at the venue for which the original tickets were purchased. Tickets are subject to capacity and entry is not guaranteed.  

1.6 Staff working at Moonlight Cinema sites are not able to process refunds on site.  

1.7 Entry may be refused if tickets are damaged or defaced in any way or are not purchased from one of Moonlight Cinema’s authorised points of sale.  

1.8 Moonlight Cinema reserves the right to charge patrons for the replacement of lost or damaged tickets.  

1.9 Late arrival may result in non-admittance until a suitable time during the movie.  

1.10 GST will apply to all goods and services supplied through this site.  

1.11 Guests must comply with any State-mandated Public Health order/s relating to the venue, including mask wearing and vaccination directives, where required.  

2.0 Privacy and access 

2.1 Any personal information that Moonlight Cinema collects from your use of this web site will be handled, stored and used in accordance with Moonlight Cinema’s privacy policy.  

2.2 Moonlight Cinema may refuse access to this web site at any time in its sole discretion.  

2.3 You are aware that Moonlight Cinema attracts considerable media interest. By purchasing your ticket and/or attending the event you are agreeing for your name, photograph and/or footage of you to be used by Moonlight Cinema for promotional or advertising purposes.  

3.0 Variation 

3.1 Moonlight Cinema reserves the right to vary the terms of sale at any time. Variations become effective upon posting on the web site. By making a purchase through this site after the terms and conditions have been varied you agree to be bound by the variation.
